What if you could really conduct meetings online? Meaning, what if you could share documents, images, presentations and talk with your audience via 100% VoIP in real-time with exceptional audio and video quality? And what if you could have a limitless audience in full duplex—no passing the mic required as with other solutions. Better still, what if the solution was a pay-as-you-play option that was inexpensive, easy to use, and highly scalable? Thanks to Bradon Technologies and its SAVii Desk desktop presentation tool—built on Microsoft® technologies—businesses today have a new easy way to collaborate, communicate, and meet.

Founded in 2004, Bradon is committed to innovating, developing, and delivering the world’s most advanced online meeting tools and technologies. By combining exceptional Voice-over-Internet-Protocol (VoIP) quality with online collaboration software, Bradon hopes to become the VoIP leader in unified communications. Its SAVii Desk tool, delivered as a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) business model is now used by more than 25 companies around the world for online meetings, group conference calls, desktop presentations, training sessions, and sales events.

Bradon developed its product using a number of Microsoft technologies, in particular Microsoft Visual Studio® 6.0. It also depends on Microsoft Windows Server® 2003 for its IT infrastructure, and Bradon early on saw the importance of integrating with the Microsoft Office desktop environment—including Windows® 98/2000/XP/Vista®, and Windows Mobile® 5.0.

According to President and CEO Joe Compta, “We chose Microsoft due to their dominance in the market, and wanted to ensure that our technologies worked well on all of the Windows platforms. It offers easy integration with Windows Outlook®, and Windows Mobile 5.0 enables remote parties to participate through a cell phone or PDA—SmartPhone. In developing this application, Visual Studio was critically important to us, and has helped us immensely.”

With its Microsoft-technology focus, Bradon has created an innovative VoIP collaboration solution that provides all of the benefits of a traditional econferencing solution with one clear distinct advantage—live VoIP for all participants regardless of the size of the audience with unparalleled levels of audio quality and compression. Explains Compta, “We’ve designed a new concept in VoIP that demonstrates significant improvement in voice transmissions over unstable, high latency networks such as the Internet.“

In fact, Bradon’s proprietary technology provides real-time connection for any type of voice conversations over the Internet including multi-user conference calls.

Bradon’s technology makes voice synchronization available with any other concurrent content (lips synchronization issue) along with excellent voice quality and extremely low bandwidth. Explains Compta, “This all became available with a new approach to the voice compression—Bradon Technologies Audio Codec—BTAC.“

With these technology innovations, Bradon’s SAVii Desk delivers clear, real-time audio and visual transmissions without pauses, echoes, or delays. With SAVii Desk and its integrated VoIP, an entire group meeting (up to hundreds of participants) can see the presenter and his/her desktop in advanced color resolution while talking together in real time.

And one of the key differentiators of this approach—it all takes place through the computer, without having to use a telephone.

Says Compta, “This truly is the next generation of collaboration, conference calling and social networking.”

Bradon’s SaaS business model offers its customers key benefits of scalability, reliability, secure delivery, and even customization features, to name a few. Since there is no license acquisition required with this 100-percent Web-based solution, once a customer sets up an account, they can add an unlimited number of host accounts online, and users can access SAVii Desk from anywhere in the world and from any computer in the world. The payment structure is a pay-per-use model, which is activated by an approved account.

Part of what makes it so reliable is the small application footprint, which is less than 400Kb (actually 200 Kbs if the logo is removed). According to Compta, “This simplicity in design delivers an uncomplicated user experience that dramatically decreases the possibility of application error.” With this web solution, there is no server integration, software licensing, or monitoring required. Users can install the application or use it without installation—this one-time use is another feature of the small, yet powerful size of the SAVii Desk application.

Designed in the spirit of Unified Communications and Web 2.0, SAVii Desk’s unique technology can be integrated into any application or web design. Bradon’s customers can ‘white label’ SAVii Desk and create a tool or application for online collaboration that is customized to meet their specific needs.

This is exactly what Euro RSCG, one of the world’s largest advertising networks in the world, did when it needed to communicate with its clients on campaigns remotely. With some 225 offices in 75 countries, RSCG needed to collaborate efficiently on a global scale, without spending extra time and money on traveling. The SAVii Desk system was introduced to the Euro RSCG network in January 2007, and within two weeks, more than half of their offices had accounts set up using SAVii Desk—for everything from accounting and finance meetings, to creative client presentations. Euro RSCG is now using SAVii Desk in a private label capacity (called EUREKA) to create its advanced online marketing initiatives.
