Cool Video advertising startup: YuMe

YuMe, a startup based in Redwood City CA, is a video targeting advertising platform for brand advertisers that delivers targeted, localized video ads into any device (online, download, stream, P2P, mobile and IPTV). YuMe has built its platform to support any video infrastructure and integrates with web publishing systems. It support third party ad servers, e.g. Doubleclick, Atlas, MediaPlex and aQuantive. YuMe’s proprietary tracking technology allows advertisers to monitor and control the distribution of video assets across all digital media platforms –whether streamed or downloaded . It also provides advertisers the ability to customize video ads in real time based on user information without having to redistribute content. Ads can be dynamically targeted by content, geography (IP/Zip Code), device type (PC, Mobile, TV), demographics, individual viewing habits, popularity ranking (ie, top 100 videos). Backed by Accel Partners, Khosla Ventures & BV Capital, the company just won a “Best of Show” award at a Silicon Valley startup conference organized by Dealmaker Media’s Under the Radar: Entertainment & Media. 32 emerging technology startups in the digital entertainment and media space presented at that conference which gathered 300 people from the IT industry and VC community.
