Jacked.com based in Santa Monica, CA is a TV platform technology that completely disrupts the way people watch TV. Instead of a passive experience of sitting in front of “the idiot screen” and receiving pre-defined programming at times controlled by the studios, TV viewers can now use Jacked to “jack-in” into broadcasts to tune, personalize, and publish their own content – and all this legally.
What Jacked aims to offer is a link between “participatory devices” (ie PCs) and the most prevalent form of media in the world: the TV. It would give TV viewers the realtime ability to synchronize their personal interests, opinions, and media with television broadcasts . Jacked’s platform enables viewers to open on their PC screen, while they are watching a TV program, several windows that would show other sources of information (web sites, radio programs, other TV channels) on the subject being broadcast. For example, during a football game, a viewer could look up individual players’ ratings on an NFL site; view how other channels are covering the game; listen to a radio commentator rather than the channel’s commentator; view the web site of an advertiser for more info and possibly purchase an item etc.
