Dave Drach, Client Applications

Dave Drach is a Managing Director for the Microsoft Emerging Business Team. Dave works with venture capitalists and early stage start-ups around the world, helping them develop their businesses while effectively partnering with Microsoft. Most recently, Dave’s focus has been on rich client applications built on Windows 7. This includes applications and devices that use new capabilities in Windows 7 such as rich 3D, touch & sensor integration, UI, hardware, home networking, device and cloud to desktop integration.
Previously, Dave worked for Great Plains Software serving as CTO of FRx Software, a division of the company and as General Manager for Platform & Technology, where he managed relationships with ISVs and with Microsoft. Great Plains Software was acquired by Microsoft in 2001. Prior to that, Dave worked at Ernst & Young, implementing enterprise systems, and at Boeing, where he worked on robotics.
Dave holds MBA and MSIT degrees from Carnegie Mellon University and a mechanical engineering degree from the University of Colorado, Boulder.
